Christ the Divine Teacher Catholic Academy conducted its annual Thanksgiving Food Drive from Nov. 6-Nov. 14. Representatives from the 8th grade class used money earned by the student council to purchase turkeys, which were delivered, along with donations of food, to the St. Vincent De Paul Food Pantry in Sharpsburg.
“CDTCA continues to flourish both spiritually and academically, and I am grateful to share another year with the students, staff and school families,” said Principal Mark Grgurich.
CDTCA's first STEM-themed summer camp attracted kids in grades 1-5 to the Aspinwall campus. From racing crickets to chemical reactions, digital design to egg-drop parachutes, students enrolled in grades 1-5 from various schools spent more than five hours daily from July 10-14 exploring the world of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
The school hosted the 2023 Sip & Style Fashion Fundraiser May 7 at the Pittsburgh Field Club in Fox Chapel. The event drew more than 200 people and raised more than $35,000.
The preschool program at Christ the Divine Teacher Catholic Academy in Aspinwall is set to expand this fall, offering a full-day option for ages 4 and 5. The full-day program will operate from 8:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. and offer lunchtime, outside play or inside the gym, academic reinforcement, more socialization, arts and crafts and a rest/quiet period. It can accommodate 25 students.
