CDTCA Girls Developmental Basketball Program Philosophy
The developmental basketball program's primary focus will be to teach the fundamental skills of the game of basketball, to develop a basic understanding of playing within the team concept, promote equitable playing opportunities for all members of the program and most importantly to emphasize a fun time for the young players learning the game. There will be no emphasis on winning and losing in this program. Through the season, each player will improve his/her basketball skills.
If a player needs to miss a practice / game, please call or email one of the coaches.
The team practices will be the focus of the majority of the development of the players, especially in the early part of the season. Parents are welcome and encouraged to assist the coaching staff with practice sessions to help ease this ratio.
There will be approximately 10-12 games scheduled. The games are played with a running clock and there is no score kept. Other rules for the developmental age include using of smaller basketball (girls size) and foul shots taken at least one foot inside the regular foul line.
