Wow! The first graders have been having a wonderful time in first grade so far.  They already learned so much already. 

In Spelling, we are learning how to spell words with the long I.  This week's words include: nice, time. bike, stripe, like, white, mice, kite, drive.

In language arts, we are learning about comparing and contrasting as we read the book, "Animal Groups."  The childre are also learning about the five animal groups.  

In Math class, we are learning groups on tens and ones.  

In Religion class, we are learning about the different parts of the Bible.  The first graders love hearing different stories from each Testament. 

In Science, we are learning about magnets.  We are experimenting by finding items that are magnetic.  

In social studies, we are learning about  jobs.  The children are very excited to discover different jobs that can be found in our communities.  

This is going to be a wonderful year!
